Dance company Liisa Pentti +Co is organising a workshop for dance makers interested in working with people with autism spectrum on Saturday, February 3.

Choreographer Liisa Pentti has been teaching dance to people with autism spectrum since 2015 and has created working methods based on contact improvisation, contemporary dance and somatic methods. The aim of the workshop is to raise interest in this work and to also find new dancers for the teaching team.

During the afternoon, Liisa Pentti will talk about the work and share some exercises and tasks used in the teaching. The workshop is free open to all dance makers who are interested in working with the neurodivergent individuals. The maximum number of participants is of eight .

When registering, we hope that you will tell us in a few sentences about your interest in working with special groups. The workshop will be held at the Performance Art Centre in Suvilahti.

For more information, you can contact Liisa Pentti, liisa@liisapentti.com

The workshop is part of Liisa Pentti +Co's development project to expand the community-based activities of the dance company and their impact. The project is supported by the City of Helsinki and its partner is Kehitysvammatuki 57 ry.
