The morning classes focus on somatic work, aiming to sensitise the proprioceptive sense. Classes will focus on recognising body alignment during movement and dance. The focus is on recognising the interconnectedness of the spine, hips, hips and feet. The aim is to towards a dance that can combine the body's natural freedom and movement coordination, and a dialogue between body control and surrender to gravity.

Classes include floor, standing and wall exercises. We will do short and simple exercises with a partner. You can come to class even if you have had a break from dancing. If you are recovering from an injury, it shouldn't be a barrier to attending class, but you can check with me beforehand.

The studio doors are open from 9.30 a.m.

Satu Rekola has been working as a freelance dance artist since 2003, when she graduated Theatre Academy (MA). She has had the opportunity to work extensively with over thirty choreographers.
“Working with different people has been an enrichment and has allowed me to see to see the professio from different perspectives and learn new things. I have always been interested in somatic methods, which I have practised quite extensively. I have also worked as a dance teacher, pilates instructor and Spiral Labilatory instructor.”
