Does improvisation interest, annoy, inspire or puzzle you? This event is for you! Liisa Pentti +Co’s Impro Autumn culminates in a two-day event where dance and music improvisation are explored from multiple angles. Join us to see, discuss and experience what improvisation with bodies and instruments can achieve.

Panel discussion with Kritikbyrån
Improvisation in the 2020s: what dance and music improvisation look like in this era and how we talk about them. What kind of worldview does improvisation convey? The bilingual discussion explores what improvisation as an art form has to offer to the artist and the audience. Panelists include Christer Bothén, Pia Lindy, Nelia Naumanen, Liisa Pentti, Benno Voorham and Katariina Vähäkallio. The discussion is moderated by critic Rakel Similä.

7:15–8:15pm
Impro jam!
The day’s performers along with Paul Pignon return to the stage for a joint session – join us there!

The participants selected by open call will be published later. The session includes 5 presentations of about 15 minutes each.

Performances in the Open Stage programme by jenni ahti, Valtteri Kiviniemi, Object trouvé working group, Elias Berglund, Emma Uusi-Kokko, Henna-Maria Hanhineva, Julia Mäkelä and Katri Käpynen.
