About
ELSIAG (every love story is a ghost) is a dance piece about an ongoing love story.
It is based on the concept of the body as a vessel for dance heritage and personal dance history. The body is a platform for the layered traces of fleeting moments related to people, spaces, and the spaces between them; encounters with different species, entities, thoughts, feelings, and intuitions. Memories and the future intermingle to create something new.
Dance, as an art form, has a special and enduring relationship with ghosts, beginning with Giselle — the embodiment of romantic ballet. In this solo, Liisa Pentti confronts the ghosts of her dance past, often with a sense of humour.
ELSIAG is a dance for our unpredictable times — a dance of joy and enchantment; a dance of deep, free breathing; a dance of faith in a better future for our planet and all its living, feeling beings. It is a love story that is uncertain and ever-changing, yet still alive.
