Mabel Revival tours Europe in spring 2025


Mabel Revival is a joyous and shameless mixture of dance, performance, and DIY cabaret. Choreographer and dancer Liisa Pentti and actor-musician Robert Kock lead the spectator to the mysterious and enchanted world of divas, those objects of admiration and desire.

Mabel is a woman with no shame or remorse, a modern-day shaman and prostitute who dances, growls and sings, captivates as well as confuses. The work is a tribute to femininity and female performers, whose charisma and sensuality bring the stage to life, mediating bodily affect and knowledge. To live fully, we must also talk about death and visit the land of dreams, if only at night...

Liisa Pentti's solo work, Mabel or The Queen of Bones, originally premiered at Zodiak in 2008, will tour three European countries in spring 2025. Liisa Pentti +Co has long been part of the artist-led international Studiotrade network, and the network's joint EU-funded DANCE ALL IN project will see Mabel in Vilnius, Palma de Mallorca and Cologne.
The project focuses on diverse and inclusive dance, where different bodies, generations and identities are seen. In addition to the performances, Liisa Pentti will lead a workshop on dance pedagogy for autism in Palma and a diva workshop in Cologne.
