Each summer Liisa Pentti +Co offers a residency programme in the company’s studio in Helsinki for dance and performance artists and working groups working in Finland or abroad. The aim of the residency programme is to offer a peaceful working space for research or for working towards a future production. The residency periods are generally 1-2 weeks long. The period for residencies is June to August. The application period for summer 2021 residencies will open in April 2021.

Artists and working groups for the summer 2020 residency have now been selected. Because of Covid-19 the studio has a lot less reservations and rehearsals so we were able to offer a longer period for the summer residencies than we thought. In total, we were able to offer 11 weeks of residencies for 10 artists and working groups in June, July and August. The artists selected for the 2020 summer residency are Ingrid André & Gabriele Goria, Energpriests, Joona Halonen, Leila Kourkia, Nadja Pärssinen, Janina Rajakangas, Red Desert working group, Rasmus Slätis, Soft Practice collective and Masi Tiitta.

We received a total of 25 residency applications. All of them were very high quality and innovative. In the selection process we considered the clarity and specificity of the working plan at Liisa Pentti +Co Studio as well as the research-like quality of the work. We are extremely happy to have received so many great applications and to be able to offer a residency for more groups and artists than we initially thought. A big thank you to all the applicants!
