Klaustro – shhh! is a new interpretation of a work performed 30 years ago: Liisa Pentti‘s first solo work in Finland called Klaustro. Performed in December 1987, the original work draws inspiration from The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot, the atmospheres of which provided the foundation for the movement material and the choreography.
Revisited by Liisa Pentti and Veronika Lindberg in November 2017, the work focuses on themes that arise from Klaustro’s original version: the memory and the history imbedded in the body, loneliness, a jump, lightness, shadow, death, aging, nostalgia and the present moment. Klaustro – shhh! is performed by Liisa Pentti, making the piece stand out from the genre of re-enactments and new interpretations of works.
Premiere: 21st November 2017 at Zodiak – Center for new dance.
